Rev. Victor Vidal’s new book, “How Are the Mighty Fallen?” discusses the reasons behind the prophetic failure of election results by some Evangelical pastors. He explains the reason that led to the false prophecy and offers solutions.
The book outlines different challenges within the church regarding apostasy, false doctrines, worshipping of idols, conspiracy theories, and the danger of preaching the gospel of politicians instead of the gospel of Christ.
In view of the challenges facing the church today, the author is concerned about Christians in different churches who believed in the uttered prophecy now faced humiliation from the outside due to the failed prophecy. Donald Trump lost the election of 2020 contrary to the prevailing prophecies among the Evangelical Christians who supported him. Some of these hurting members have already left the church. Some may not believe in Biblical messages any longer. Another group branded Christian preachers as liars based on the fight that erupted on social media and the break-in into the U.S. Capitol in Washington DC.
The author urged Christian preachers about the importance of preaching the authentic message of God of the Bible and not that of politicians. He stresses the need to make corrections from the false prophecy uttered about the election of 2020. Admit mistakes were made and apply correction before the congregation instead of insisting that God is wrong and their prophecy is accurate. “You cannot defend false prophecy, a lie is a lie!” said the author.
The book warns about the danger hanging over any preacher or person who continues to lie about God from the self-made prophecy not instructed by God.
Bible warned: “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. A heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief. A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren” – – Proverbs 6:16-19.
This is not a political book. It is a book that discusses issues in the church and how Christian preachers have the responsibility to preach the truth of God, lead members to spiritual worship, and stay away from the lies of the devil.
Due to the prophetic failure of the election prediction of 2020, all Christian preachers, especially the Evangelicals, need to go before their congregations and apologize for leading them astray. Our mission in the kingdom is not to idolize any politician like the Evangelical Christians have done in the past four years. Christian preachers are supposed to preach to both saints and sinners.
We also need to end this division created in the church when we divide people between those we agree with and call them saints, and those we disagree with and call them sinners. Jesus did not condemn sinners like the woman caught in an affair, but preached to both saints and sinners. He knowns, there is no human being who is a perfect saint before God. We all strive to get better and better each day, learn to love others as Christ loves them, and walk in the Spirit of the Holiness of God.
